What’s the problem?

Cooling and heating systems make up roughly half of the energy usage of individual households, contributing to the growing carbon emissions causing climate change. With a growing push for more energy efficient homes, the question of how to deal with older buildings arises, especially here in Savannah where there are an abundance of historic homes with very poor energy efficiency. Additionally, many of these homes are rental properties, leading renters to be unaware of the cost of their bills or their carbon emissions upon moving in with limited options for them to have agency in care and maintenance.
